Alternator belt

Stuck my car in to the shop today to get the oil changed apparently one of my alternator belts are fraying. What would have happened if it broke Completely?

One of? isn't there only one?
It's cheap as chips, get one for around 15 bucks and take's about 20min to install.

Hmm he said there was two. he specifically asked me if i wanted both of them replaced. I bet this is one of those times when the mechanic tries to rip me off. and $15 he said if i wanted to do it cheapely it would cost me $60 for one lol

the other is the power steering belt

You could get both the alternator and p/sterring belt for under $30. It's easy to replace it yourself.
Also, check the pully's on both, you might need to replace them also.

Anyone know the Part number of the Power Sterring Belt as i never got mine replaced due to the mechanic not being able to find one, so its as squeaky as hell
