flickering oil light

Hey guys.
Got an annoying issue with my oil light. It flickers. before anyone asks, YES i have checked the oil (several times just to make sure).

The flickering looks to be in sync with the engine cos when i put my foot down more the flickering light becomes brighter and when idling it is just a dull flickering glow. It will roughly do it every second time i go for a drive and last the duration of the trip.

Anyone got any ideas?

There is no ECU code for oil pressure in the lists I have including the link provided.

If your oil light is on it indicates the pressure is low. Based on your description u can screw your bottom end fast is there is not enough oil i.e oil pump issue.

Dont drive it until its been checked and confirmed the sender is not the issue.

It might be just your oil pressure switch has died, I've replaced a couple on the 5.7 litre holden V8 and on a skyline, easiest way to test this is hook a oil pressure gauge, if it shows oil pressure that is in specs then the oil pressure switch is dead.

You can buy a oil pressure gauge at super cheap and then get a T piece and put it where the oil pressure switch is, put the oil pressure gauge sender and oil pressure switch on the t piece, I'm not sure what the specs are but if there is pressure there I would say its the oil pressure switch.

If your not showing pressure or pressure disapears when reving then you might need a new oil pump.

hmm i didn't quite understand how grounding a wire will tell you
what the error code means. I've been driving around in it for about a
week so i think i might take it in to get looked at before something goes
horribly wrong.
