Ok just got the engine back in and took it for the test drive to see how everything is in the new engine. Now the battery light is on. I have tested the alternator and it's charging. What else can this mean?

Usually means the battery itself is low on charge... take it for a longer drive (and rev) and see if she goes out...

Well it makes sense because i had to change the alternator and the battery was dead and i only half charged it. Cheers Bennoz

Ok brand new battery and still the light is on. Mivec is also not cutting in. Seems to surge or flat spot when the throttle is fully opened

I would say that you are going to need a new alternator

yeh thats ok :D it's not the cars fault, don't hurt it's feelings

i'd say that getting it new from mitsu would be way too much money as everything is. just get a recod. 1.

i am unable to give any places in Brisbane however coz i live on the goldy. :?

GL with it anyway.

Yeah awesome spoke to les at Browns Plains Auto Electrics 0738002700 and he said it wouldn't cost anymore then $275 max. New regulator, rectifer, brushes and diode pack.

I say that's the cheapest part on the fto yet lol

Is that the cost just to recon?

Cost someone has to get the damn thing out and put it back in again.

Just recon. Not that hard to get it out once you have done it a few times. I can have it out in 30 mins now.

Apparently so. I went in at 12 and dropped off my old one. And he had it arrive this arv but was wrong output and leg not long enough. Proper one will be there in the morning. Was comming from north side so there in stock somewhere
