65mm Throttle Body - Worth it ?

I have been surfing around for performance bolt-ons for my FTO and come across a 65mm throttle body.

The FTO runs a 60mm throttle body standard and was wondering if anyone here has a 65mm throttle body or has an opinion as to whether it would be a worthy option or not.

hey,

You'll find a fair bit of useful info here;
http://www.ftoaustralia.com/modules.php ... ic&t=12016

But basically, it will be useless without a decent Intake & Exhaust system installed & you will need to get a good piggyback ECU, or at the very least, an SAFCII or similar Air/Fuel controller & then have your car tuned to get the best performance

Thanks for the advice, might steer clear of it.

By the way, the link is www.rpw.com.au

its pretty much pointless getting the TB by itself, you're better off buying the TB/ manifold upgrade, as the intake bore of the manifold they give you will be matched to the TB itself, plus its relatively cheap compared to getting it done at your local machinist.
i found i guy that said he can do a GTR type 6 throttle body setup for my car, but i havent gone to get a quote yet, and its a first for him (on FTO V6). guessing over $5000...

So many people think that individual throttle bodies make the car 'un-drivable on the street' - thats crap, its just an excuse for shops that have the product listed to put the highest possible price on it as its a 'top of the line' upgrade....

I thought it was more of a case of heaps of supporting mods are required to get them to work.

No not really. It's a fairly straightforward thing. You just lose a bit low end (generally) and gain some top end. Imho, probably not worth spending money on it unless you're really serious about racing and track the car heaps.
