Hi everyone, I have a few questions about my new FTO.

1) The clock in the dash does not function. I check the fuses etc but it all seems normal. Are there any common causes for this clock to just not work?

2) I have a 96 model GPX, which models had ABX and airbag?

Thanks for help!

Could be something with the clock itself. Have you looked at the connections on the back of it ... More then likely this is where the problem would be ...

Not sure about the ABS ... Mine is a 97 and has driver + passenger air bag, and ABS ...

It all depends about if the buyer in Japan wanted abs or not, mines a late 95/early 96 and doesnt have abs or traction control but my mates 94 has both.

Facelift models have abs and airbags as standard i believe. Pre facelift and it was an option.

Okay thanks.

How do you remove the clock? Do you need to strip the console?

You'll need to take the stereo surround off (be careful not to crack it)and unclip the cigarette lighter wiring etc.

then undo two screws that hold the panel that the lock is in above your steroe and then it will pull out, it is just clipped in. Undo the wiring for the gauges (plugs) and hazard lights and go from there. Not sure how to get the clock out, maybe someone that has changed their gauges will be able to tell you. If not search for how to on fitting gauges and they will tell you.

Yeah, once you've done the above, the clock is just held in with 2 screws. I put a replacement clock in the other week - not difficult job at all.
