Righto... before Rick comes up against any problems, i need some advice..
This is all to do with the differences between GPX and GR...
- INJECTORS - Are they the same? I have 390cc injectors in the GPX engine that i want Rick to transfer into the GR... He things the plug may be different... how can i do this???
- Exhaust manifold - Are they the same?? or more importantly, do they end at the same point (as the turbo up-pipe connects from the collector)
- Wiring - Now i have a Microtec ECU installed, but im wondering what will be needed to be messed around with... The alternator is different...
Will my tuner be able to handle this???
Help on any of these would be appreciated ASAP.. as i'd rather be informed of them BEFORE they arrive...
Thanks...

Do you have the workshop manuals for the engine? It might have the info in there...
I don't see why the alternator sohuld be an issue ... they are different, but from what I understand problems would arise moreso from converting from GR > GPX (because GR may not have all the wiring in place for Mivec)
I would assume that going from GPX > GR would not cause any issues, as long as you swap to GR ECU (you're using Microtech, don't see why there should be any probs) & GR Alternator (also, should be no probs, same thing, just no plugs for Mivec relay circuit)
Not sure if you will even need the MAF sensor fro ma GR in the air intake piping, but its something to keep in mind & maybe ask J&R about..
Can't tell you anything about the exhaust manifold / injectors / dist.

Yeh MAF sensor is not used when running a microtec... so thats no worries... im hoping theres no implications with the NON-MIVEC alternator...
I have all the wiring and the GR ECU at home... Thinkin it might be safest to get that down to JnR just incase its needed...
The main thing my tuner needs to know is about the distributer...
Im presuming because it will change the settings on the RPM signal for the ECU... and thus read the RPM wrong...
When i had it first done they had problems with this because Microtec sent them a Non-MIVEC type LT-10s... and it had probs...
Just got a call from the tuner...
Diff distributer = massive dramas...
Might be having to pay my tuner to go down to JnR to check it all out... If he can he said he should be able to get it done for AS... fingers crossed

Sam didn't you get a copy of the CAP program i've sent to Ben? I know Dstock had compile the 4 CD into one DVD, so you might want to ask him too.
From that you should able to cross reference any parts in a FTO.
I don't even know wheres mine gone to after i've send a copy to Ben LOL So i couldn't cross reference it for you.....

Injectors are the same from GR to GPX, even thou you have 375cc, the rails are the same so you should be fine.
Exhaust manifolds are the same - the differences are only in the collector pipe mounts to the cat.... and thats on a stock system, so again, you shouldn't have any problems there.
Wiring... thats gonna be a doozy. I'd say you will need a different harness from the ECU. All the other Mivec wiring is still in the car I'd assume, but it is extra ontop of the the standard loom, so they may just be able to leave a few plugs off. Things like the mivec oil solenoids etc need not be connected.
Dunno if you could work that theory with the alternator - Ie only plug in the required GR plugs & leave the Mivec leads off it.... If you cant, then getting a GR alternator isnt hard - they were common to the Galants.

Just sent down to the mechanic, all the GR parts i had...
-Stock injectors
-Fuel Rail
- Exhaust Manifold
-Intake Manifold
-TB
-Alternator
- Other Misc Crap...
Should i take down the GR wiring harness i have here???
My tuner is going down today to check out the car, and will run up the ECU.
If it works with the distributer, than great... if not then he'll take the ECU back to his workshop and modify it to work... Or worst case send it back to microtec for them to do it...
He has done some crazy conversions before so he should be fine with this...
And combined with Ricks knowledge of FTOs, they should be able to brainstorm almost anything.
