Just pulled out my stock door speakers and the only thing holding them together was magnetised rust LOL

Has anyone had to repair/replace their seals here? If so....
Who?
Where?
How much?

Cheers

I'd be looking to cut out the rust & repair & repaint the affected panels before replacing the seals... do you have a blockage in the drain hole of your doors?

The panels are rust free thank god, in fact come to think of it the rust on the speakers is probably just 10+ years of condensation build up?!

I will however have a checkers of the drainage holes now that you've mentioned it....... cheers :D

um.... the stock speakers are how old now? lol
i doubt this is going to happen to your new speakers in the next couple of yrs.

check to make sure the drainage things are fine, and rust proof the metal bits of your speakers if u r that worried.
or tape a couple of those silicon moisture absorber thingos inside your door panel (u know the ones u find in shoe boxes etc), but make sure they r not going to get wet (so tape them to somewhere high up on the panel)

Haha mine were like that too when i pulled 'em out. Don't forget japan's an island too, things would rust a lot quicker over there due to the air i'd say.

um.... sydney is a coastal city lol

actually it depends on where in sydney u live i supose.
i.e. closer to the beaches means more rust thanks to moisure and salt in the air

As i did, and anyone should do, when you replace your speakers stick the new ones in a plastic bag before you re assemble the door, but put a few holes in the bottom, that way if any water leaks into the door it wont damage your speakers.
