Manual Transmision

HI all i havea a fto manual transmission and i have notccied that putting it in to first gear and second gear and reverse someitmes requireds me to allply a bit of force and push it in and sometimes it jsut slides in no worries smooth as can be but sometimes i have to force it in any ideas?

ok i have botcied something when i use the car for the first time in the day the manual transmission couldnt be smoother smoothest gears to change in to ever but after about 10-15mins of driving or if i park the car and turn it off then back on again it starts to require force to put the gears in to place especiall 1 and 2 and refverse im puzzled any ideas guys please help common.

Maybe time to change your clutch fluid. Also check operation of both clutch master & slave cylinders. If thats ok... then you got problems.

Hmm the cluth fluid is inbetween the min and max level should i sitll just drain it and change it completely? Sorry bennoz but how do you check the operation of the cluth master and and slave cylinders? I hope its not anything majorr to fix

ok if this helps iv noticed when the car is off i can change it to watever gear its the smoothest and best moving in to gears so smooth when the cars off but when itss on after driving a while its a bitch u have o force it in any ideas?

have you changed the gearbox oil recently. That would be my first suggestion, especially if its only happening when the car is warm. If it were happening all the time it could be the selector cables, the bracket on top of the gearbox on the FTO is renound for breaking, but as I said that would happen all the time.

OK it could be the gearbox oil thats what iwas thinking because as it gets warmer does the oil mayby get thinner or something?Umm How do i hange the gearbox oil lol
I just asked mitsubishi for how muchey would charge for the gearbox oil change and they quoted me 100 they said 60 bux for the oil they are using. They said if this doesnt fix the problem the synchros could be on the way out?does this sound right.

thanks bennoz i think this is a bit to involved for me i think ill get the mechanic to do it ill suggest these things to him then.

Great News All, i took it to the mechanic today he to ld me there was most likly a problem with the cluth plate however the clutch plate was changed by the previous owner 2000kms ago and the part was from repco so my mechanic called repco and claimed it on warranty for his handy work he charged 450dollars to change the clutch plate and the part from repco was 310 is this reasonable prices out of curiousity anyway repco are paying for it yay.

As you are driving does the clutch engage at a differant point on the pedal?
If so I would be checking the master and slave cylinders.
