I have read the manuals and links provided but they did not help me resolve my query.

If the Engine Warning Light and Exhaust warning light come on at initial startup and automatically go off what would be some common ways to resolve the issue?

The car itself drives fine and the only possible sympton I know of is the car idles a little high at start up but other than that its all fine.

Any ideas appreciated, its a GPX model by the way it is a relatives who has no mechanical knowledge but I am trying to help as a mechanic checked it for them and said just to leave it the car is fine. :?

So the lights are comming on @ start up and then going off straight away???

They are ment to do that mate.

If its staying on while your driving THEN you have a problem.

Check your air intake plug is still connected on the side of the sensor.

Just go through your engine bay & check all your plugs are in.

normally only one exhaust sensor and thats oxygen, your car idles high on start because of autochoke (i dont know the real name of it) but it just automatically feeds a little more air/ fuel to get it to operating temp quicker, so you dont damage it by running it hard and cold. as missxfto said, they all come on at ignition, its a system check

If there supposed to be on when you start then why would only those two come on and not the rest?

They stay illuminated for a couple of seconds then go off so just the zorst and engine lights are supposed to come at startup then?

exhaust light come on at first because of no reading for first few seconds, engine light on because of no/ low oil pressure reading. the others dont come on coz they arent doing anything (ABS, open door, handbrake etc)

Have you ever had your lights on come since youve owned the car? or havent taken notice?

Maybe you need to replace bulbs. Go to another mechanic & get a second opinion if your worried mate.
