I got a set of Kaze taillight covers recently, but wasnt completely happy with the look, so thought id look at modifying them a little. If I could get some thoughs on the design shown in the pictures that would be great:

And here is a pic of the Kaze cover with the template on top. Looking at putting the aluminium rings inside the holes I cut.The centre circle will be complete and the one on either side will be cut to join withthe centre one:

did you design that out of paper ? i think if it were put on properly..and made of the correct materials, it may look better. But as it is, i personally i wouldnt put it on my car.

also, i think like the other model lights..if the rounded parts were in the actual tail lights in would look better..but definately a unique idea ! ;)

Double Sided Tape

Yeah, just a paper template at this stage. The covers cost me about $150 by the time I got them, so a little hesitant to just start hacking into them just yet. Unfortunately, that means you need to imagine what it would look like if it were flat against the light with the 3 silver rings embedded in it where the large circles are, the same colour as the car and without lines on it.

dont think the center circle is do-able, well it will be but it will also be very very weak, and if u use a chrome ring... it'll pop out....

Why not do the brake light similar to the indicator, just my personal opinioin but the cicrles look a bit funny next to the indicator. Im really sh*t with MS paint but i think you can get the picture of what i mean from this.

For what it's worth mate, I like it .. it's original & different which is always good as far as I'm concerned .. you might be able to finish it off if you get some thin chrome weather-stripping, its bendable & has a sticky backing, so it can be conformed to any shape you want ;)
