Ive been reading a few websites saying if your car is not moving and your neon lights are on bellow its not illegal? but when your moving with neon lights on it is illegal?

I live in South Australia.

Can someone give me hard detail if it is illegal overall or just when in motion.

Not sure for s.a but in qld its basically up to the police officers discreation. The law states if the lights are distracting it is illegal alos not allowed to be emergency service colour (blue)

yeah what 1ate4re said, up to the cops but your allowed to cruise around no more than 20km/h with them on ... try to avoid blue and red as they're police colours and the cops will have the best excuse against you.

if you plan on getting neons, dont dude lol thats soooo riced

ive got red ones under my car and i honestly dont use them at all....

Thought they were like tooootally awesome when i got them... 2 weeks later i cbf with them. Ill be taking them of when i have some spare time and probly have them behind my tv cabinet in my room

White ones will be ok to aid parking at night but either then that? No use IMO

In US and Ireland its illegal if they're red or blue as they're the cop colours and you can be done for 'impersonating' a cop or some crap like that.
Think the other colours are frowned upon but not necessary illegal, I'd imagine its the same for Oz but not sure.
