good suburbs to buy in

hey guys,
Yes me and my gf might be moving and leaving darwin behind at the end of next year. We are trying to find good suburbs in brissie to buy a house or start looking into.
Would love somewere close to brissie or anywere really just nt ages from brissie.

ok cool man how far is that away from brisbane buddy.
I might be buying a house or we might rent for awhile to see if we will like brisbane, but i am pretty sure i will haha.
what are the prices for houses in that area man, is that were u live haha.

Man after living in a bunch of different places my advice would be to rent something close to where you work for now, take a 6 month rental contract and use that time to get to know brisbane and have a look around, then make an educated decission on where you want to buy.
House prices are dropping anyway so waiting might even save you some money.

knowhopetattoo suggestion is a good one I would recomened that too
but I can narrow down your search a bit if you answer a few questionds
what''s your budget
are you looking for a house or an apartment
do you want something new or a fix-me-up (warehouse and old fire stations make great reno projects)
what do you need to be close to (schools work church north south east west etc)
do you need to have a nice view
are you an urbane junglist or do you like the surburban wilderness and fresher air

thanks for all the feed back guys. My mum suggested just moving down their and renting for awhile why I can find a job and she can find one 2 then settle in on looking for houses. So I think the best way is to rent and see how we like it.
Alekazam I would rather I nice new looking house that I wouldn't have to reno and I would rather the suburbs closer to town don't like the bush. My gf reckons anything between 380 to 450k.
