Ok, before you whore this thread and post they're a bucket of sh*t and blah blah blah, I'm after some opinions (positive one's too), especially from anyone that owns or did own one. Basically I've found an r33 gts-t series 1 for a really good price with low kms and immaculate condition.
I was contemplating on following Simon's footsteps and turboing a gr, but I really doubt my ability. I know 'stuff' about cars but not enough to undertake a turbo project without having to spend heaps of money on labour and stuff. Not that there's many workshops that I'd trust anyways. So anywho, a different path has presented itself. So I plan to have two cars like a greedy pig

Short and sweet
Pro's; can be real quick with some minor mods, RWD
Cons; Really common, ugly (IMO)

Their pretty solid but not as good as their younger and older brothers (r32 and r34

)
Pros...
- Fairly reliable (nissan)
- Affordable for turbo as long as it doesn't have too many k's and is regularly serviced.
- Ok performance??
Cons...
- Heavy (especially compared to the other sk.ylines)
- money needs to be spent to get boost up
- Insurance
- uuuuugly
But in the end its up to you, I personally wouldnt get that specific model if i ever was gonna get a sky.line but it doesnt really matter what we think. do what ya want

it all comes down to personal prefs if you like it you like it if you dont you dont, it doesnt matter what car you own there will always be people out there that think its bucket of sh*t... even if it isnt. But even if your car is a bucket of sh*t you should form your own opinion and worry about what you enjoy to drive, not what other people say you should enjoy to drive.

No offense to the GTST / GTT owners.. but if you're gonna buy a skyl!any.. buy a REAL one. It's either a GTR or nothing.
I absolutely LOVE the flared gaurds.. that's what does it for me. It makes the GTRs look bulky and beasty, GTSTs just look pansy without the gaurds.

Agreed that gtr's are ace, but the other models have their uses aswell.... Being a RWD setup, with allot of output potential, its another car on the drift list.
FB Wide body guards arent expensive these days and you can step them out by 3-8cm
OP - my mate has a gtst, done the whole hog.... Had it for 3 years and spent all his cash on it. And it is powerfull i must say, i took it for a spin pushing it preety hard and the car preety much fishtailed up the straight, shitting myself at every gear change hearing the tyres screach and feeling the car pull from side to side.
I've always respected the skys for their power, although not flashy in the looks department, it >can< carry a big dick

A mate of mine has one of the 33's, they are fantastic cars, very forgiving in the hands of an inexperienced driver. Factory spec will blow the doors off a GPX.
Yes they are big, and yes they are like a whale... but they are brilliant.
Brake specification is pretty mint (read nice large discs and I believe 4 pots all round, maybe just the front though).
It is easy to find parts for them and they respond really well boosted (~13 psi tops on factory spec).
Saying that though, I am of the opinion that the R32 is the best shape, 34's, unless a GTR or with a mean kit, just don't really do it for me.
On topic, great cars, if you can be happy with a rather large car that IS heavy, then go for it. Easy to maintain and work on. Oh, and they are damn easy to get ~400 whp with boltons and standard internals, though it will be stressed.

Lol no I'm not illiterate, I actually have very good grammar =P
I was trying to type S k y l i n e but put a "!" instead of the i so the Bens big penis wouldn't change it. after the "!" it was "n e" without the space, but Bens big penis automatically changed that to "any" lol
