I did use the search button, but couldn't find any specific info. Just wondering about the K & N CIS from RPW. Link:

Does anyone know if it would be any good in comparison to a pod filter? I like the look of it coz I don't wanna have to get a pod and then have to box it in. I really don't wanna get defected on my P's so I'd be too scared to leave a pod exposed lol.

Thanks :)

K&N is a top brand, as for imporvement..... yes, will you notice it?.......maybe. Is it better than factory....... yes but not massively.

Would a more noticeable improvement be felt if I had an exposed pod? With the K & N, I would have a ducting pipe running from the bottom of the bar into the filter as well.

As Simon said, its definitely an improvement over stock but I wouldn't leave it exposed because it will lose any improvement.

Yeah you definitly need to box the thing. It doesnt need to be air tight but you need to sheild it from the fans. Before i boxed mine you could actually tell when the fans kicked in as it lost power every time they did. I drove it for about a week till it did my head in and i boxed it

Wow, I was under the impression that an exposed pod filter was better than boxing it 8O

Thanks guys :)

Boxing it keeps underbonnet heat out, better for power generation
