I liked the first one, really because it had never been done before. Hot cars, awesome music etc etc. The story was pretty weak but tolerable. Cops and robbers, ok, I can handle that.

I thought the second one was shite, story was crap, though the cars were mint again. Seen it many times, but always disappointed. Too much cops and drug dealer bullshit.

I thought the third one was fuckin fantastic, everything about the movie stood out. It was well written, finally got away fromt he cliche'd cops and robbers crap to a guy just trying to make it. Fuckin hot chicks too

Now, I ask you (of course not to ruin the plot), is it back to the same old same old cops and robbers crap as before? Done to death. I am being wary, waiting for a cheap night haha

Ummmmm well to me its the same plot as the first one but with bits of the second one.. the whole drugs part is part of it but the way it was written it had fitted in..the cars were just sick and the soundtrack was ok
I cant stand packed cinema's so i will wait till its on its last weeks
There was way to many ppl in that one room.. it was about 220 people and they sold out on tickets in the first half an hour 8O

EDIT**

If anything the 3rd one was the worst by FAR. Think about it...the one american in tokyo becomes the drift king ? Hows that for fantasy.....i mean...i know asians arent the best drivers, but even i know some crazy ass asians who can drive like crazy. My point is, if any of them has the worst story line, it is tokyo drift because its more fantasy then the other story lines.

The story in the first one is possible, cobs robbers etc....second one follows on from this with the undercover cops and what not....third one is just bs with a crappy cast. I saw the latest one a few days ago, and it is alright...its got the story and the feel of the rest of them. Tokyo drift is just a crap film with good music and good cars.

Nobody watches the Fast & Furious series for the plot, it's pathetic :D

We watch it for the thrills and the cars! I've read like 15 reviews on Fast & Furious so far, everybody says the whole movie is "fast & furious". There's no downtime, it's just constant fast paced scenes putting out exactly what people expect to see when they go to see this movie.

Also, the 3rd one was the best one for me too. The 350z and all the drifting and JAPAN just did it for me :D

seriously i didnt feel tokyo drift..
something about it i dont know i didnt enjoy it as much as the others... like in fast and furious you know when they race you see all the cars on the side of the road  thats the stuff i like, i dont care about the bs i just wanna see the cars and the babes

tokyo drift was to fake for me where as the others you can relate to

First off ill say i love them all cause they have pretty cars in them like no other movie (except for gone in 60sec).

But from an actual movie buff perspective:

if you own the first movie on dvd you will know where the storyline got its origins.
A : i think they did well, however the should of spent more time with street racing and race wars, instead of seeing two drags then they all piss off to steal stereo's 8O

Second one:
D -: What the f**k were they thinking. You can see about 1 million movies on drug dealers vs cops for f**k sake how played out can you get. The TFTF franchise is suppose to be about the cars and illegal street racing. The only thing that saved this from being a "F". Was ludacris workshop.........."i f**ken want mine to be like that" Wokin on cars in the front and working on your tan in the back ;)

Tokyo B+: Not bad, good to see it being 90% about the cars, love the music, love the chicks but seriuosly what the hell was with his f^&ken southern accent 8O Drove me nuts

The fourth, i havent seen it so i wont judge but after watching the highlights al i was thanks is looks like no. 2 all over again

I see what all you punks mean, I guess... The southern accent was shite, but I found the story refreshing, real even

I mean hell, I just moved to a new city a year ago, with a hot car, made new friends, made some enemies. Not like I got involved in illegal street racing and all that, but it is shockingly familiar to a lot of people who have to move. The way of life ya know?

One thing I love about the franchise are some of the quotes. My favourite is Rodriguez

"ROWRRRR, I smell... Skankz! Why don't you ladies pack it up before I leave tread marks all over your faces!"

Another :D

"If you want ass, hit hollywood boulevard. If you want an adreneline rush, it'll be 2-large, right here, right now!"

That bitch is just so fuckin menacing... I love the character. Yeah, yeah... I know, the lines are cheesy as, but they are cool. Not as cliched as "It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile, winning's winning!" :supergay:

About Tokyo Drift, nothing in a movie was cooler or gave me a bigger grin than when they drove into that carpark for the first time. Yes, I do suffer from Sushi Fever

Yeah i love the cheesy lines too.

"One thing we knows is it aint how you stand by your car, its how you race your car"

I live my life a quarter mile at a time. Nothing else matters: not the mortgage, not the store, not my team and all their bullshit. For those ten seconds or less, I'm free.

Whatever. Go fetch my car!
Dom: Go fetch your car? We're not on your block any more. You better watch who you talk to like that.

Yo Dom! Why'd you bring the busta here?
Dom: Because the busta kept me out of handcuffs, he didn't just run back to the fort, the buster brought me back

hehe love it

Sooooo I saw the first session yesterday morning, I was very excited. I think I went in with very high expections and as a result, here are the things I have to comment on:

The one thing I noticed straight away was the seriousness of the movie. No longer was it the old movie with young actors, ricer imports and blaring beats, but based on drugs, murder and revenge.

I was disappointed with the variety of cars. Far too much muscle and not enough imports anymore :(

The race scenes were also a slight disappointment, with too much desert stuff and not enough crazy street stuff with dodging in between cars - Only one real scene with that, but my god was it good.

Overall, it was a good movie though, and it was interesting too see everyone back together again some 8 years later. It just seemed that the focus had been taken off the cars and the driving and instead the plotline had tried to take centre stage.

I'd give it a 7/10 - Just my opinions and I'd be happy for you all to say I'm an idiot and it was the best movie you have ever seen.

I hear ya, thought I was the only one that couldnt listen to him!!
Didnt see the 4th one yet, but from looking at clips the cars seem more exotic than affordable, imported, tricked out Jap cars. Did someone say theres a Porsche GT3 in it?? Ya, cause thats a car we can all afford. Should have stuck with skylines, eclipses, silvias, and the odd major 'what the f*ck is that' car. (Like that van thing out of 3, the green hulk yoke. Serioulsy, wtf was that!?)

There are skylines and there are silvias and there's...oh no wait...yep that just about sums up all the jap imports in the movie actually... :x

And no, the sh*tty little subaru WRX - which doesn't even deserve that title anymore - doesn't count as an import.

I just watched it.

Pretty disappointing..
Without ruining anything, this is why I didn't like the movie:

Nobody watches Fast and the furious series for the plot, as long as the plot holds together and delivers plenty of modded cars and spirited driving, everybody's happy.

HOWEVER - In this movie they actually tried to make a plot, and it was pathetic. There's around 10 minutes of the movie all up where you get to see modded cars driving fast, that's all. The second half of the movie consists of no sports cars and/or races.

See thats just pathetic, I had a major argument with a fella I used work with about Jap cars, hes into italian engines, and big into them, I was discussing power and speed and grunt and how jap cars are so much better, (over Alfa, and Fiat now not Ferrari and Lambo). The thing with Jap cars, most anyway, is that they are built to be modded, to be made user friendly, and to be tuned as you want them to be. Other manufacures give you a car with an engine and if lucky you get some extra power from mods but nothing major unless its supercharging or turboing. Fast & Furious was all about user preference, take the start of the 2nd one, he makes the skyline himself practically. If thats missing, and if theres no good scenes in the last half, then its not F&F.

EDIT: Haha, legend, Big Ugly Soap Box Racer, I typed in sky-line, thought I was phantom typing for a while!!

yeah yeah yeah .. on ya Subbie .. we all knew what you were going to say before you said it..

Watched this movie on Thursday night & I LOVED IT, the girl LOVED IT (and she doesn't normally go for that sort of stuff .. I don't even think she's seen any of the other ones..)

Here are my thoughts ..

Number 4 should have been titled "Fast & the Furious II" ... nevermind that there were two other movies in between .. Number 2 & 3 should be retroactively stripped of their titles & just classified as "Spin Offs" of the franchise
IMO number 2 & 3 are in the same league as the "American Pie Sequels" starring 'Stiffler's brother' at Band Camp & not having ANY of the original characters .. LAME!

I honestly cannot remember the second movie AT ALL! I sat through it, but the only thing I can remember was something about someone jumping a car & landing it on a boat or something?? AND the Tokyo Drift kid was a complete douche! Agree with everyone about the southern accent thing.. the only redeeming thing about the Drift movie was that it was in Japan.

There was plenty of action & anyone complaining about the storyline needs to have the carrot surgically removed.. it's an action movie FFS

Without spoiling anything ... the ENDING WAS AWESOME! I don't think they could have ended it any better than what they did.. :)
