the lifters on my 94gr are a bit noisy a friend suggested flushing after dropping the oil out as a way to clean out crud that accumulates under the lifters that cause the ticking noise
anyone hear that before or have a suggestion thanks  :?

Yeah, I did that once to one of my engine, works well if the lifters are just gummed up. If they're worn, you'll need to replace them.

a mechanic mate of mine used to use diesel to flush the engine, just let it idle dont rev it. 1 warning though, it might exaggerate any oil leaks, it washes away any build-up that might be blocking the leaks.

This is very true ^

Just be gentle with it.

I took my lifters out and cleaned them with Diesel etc. Worked great for 20000kms then were back to the orginal state. I would just get them changed.

Good luck mate, the rear banks are a pain to get out!

Before you try it, I recommend you go to repco and get some Nulon E20. Its an additive to your engine oil, use to work a treat for me.

My second set of lifters are getting noisy again at startup.
