It was the easiest blo*dy thing i have ever done!

For those of you who are looking for a GOOD and CHEAP solution. All up i spent $170 on the whole front of the car...

Got RDA reg Rotors (WHICH are manufactured by the same company that makes DBA) - Got them at 60 each rotor (when they retail at around $80)

And ended up getting Bosch pads which are infact manufactured by the same manufacturer that does Bendix - apparently Bosch goes around looking for the solid manufacturer's and applies their products through them - they cost me $50 for the set (retail at round $70)

I just wanted to tell you guys that this combination is FANTASTIC and completely adequete for any street driving (even if you wanna take it far), unless you've got money to throw away don't fall for the traps of the exp. sh*t around - they DO make a difference, but imo and from what i understand, it is so small. So for track use it may very well be useful, but i don't think that is so for most FTO driver's.

And the job - Took me around 1.5 hours to change the rotors and then the pads - was so easy and saved $100-$150 on labour from a mechanic.

Anyway, just wanted to give an update (AND haven't posted for a while anyway), so if any of you want your pads and discs replaced i'll do it for a bargain price of $99:twisted: !!! you can't go wrong

Hey Cohn nice one,pretty easy! Ive stated before on a previous thread that rda discs are cast at the same foundry as dba (which is overseas) made in Australia (no they arent) anyway the quality is the same only rda are cheaper.Standard discs are ok but it largely depends on how you drive.Next time try slotted or even cross drilled rotors and see if you notice any difference once the brakes get hot

Yea Silent Bob, i regret not taking photo's. I actually used the tutorial from http://www.mitsubishi-fto.org/workshop/front_discs/ And http://www.funky-fto.co.uk/brake_pads.html. But i found that the pictures were fairly vague (although you don't need much more if you have a general idea of the way things work mechanically).

About the pricing - i can get equipment from AutoOne at trade prices through a friend.

I actually don't have the # of the discs, but your mate should be able to find it out (atleast that's how i got mine) , i just told him FTO then he asked me if it was the 2.0l twin pot caliper (GPX) or the 2.0l single pot caliper(GR) that should be it...

i can get these rotors cheap as well, if anyone is interested i can do them for 65 bucks each.
