Cheap car, how similar are their 4 speed tip gearboxes to the FTO?

*cough* current VR4 engine into this Diamante *cough* viable?

Or should I just pick this up as my cruiser and continue to focus my attentions on building the FTO as my racer/show pony? I need a cruiser badly as my car needs to come off the road...

Remember, the engine in my car has done approximately 48,000 k's

Was expecting that response, and I am pretty convinced that's what will happen lol. You know what happens though, crazy modding thoughts and all. I *DO* need something that is unmodded and looks pretty swish, want European but really can't justify a cheap one when parts are gunna make me bankrupt.

Don't know about that mate :)
The 6G73 displaced 2497 cc. It was a 24-valve SOHC design with 2 valves running off one cam lobe, with a smaller bore than the 3.0 liter version of the same block. Bore and stroke were 83.5 mm × 76 mm (3.29 in × 2.99 in); it was a 60-degree V6 and weighed around 155 kg (340 lb). The engine had low-profile cast aluminum heads which helped it to fit into small engine bays, while pent-roof combustion chambers increased efficiency and made room for four valves per cylinder, arranged in a cross-flow pattern with a "tumble" intake port for both strong breathing and low emissions. Spark plugs were centered in the combustion chambers. The intake valves were 33 mm (1.30 in) in diameter while exhaust valves were 29 mm (1.14 in). A toothed timing belt was used. The output of 6G73 was 161 hp (122 kW; 163 PS) at 5900 rpm with 221 Nm (163 lb-ft) of torque at 4350 rpm.
That's only just higher than a non-MIVEC 6A12 from a GR, though the torque is higher than a GPX, but the car is a sh*t load begger hehe :)

I am considering it for a cruiser though

whoa really i thought they were a lot stronger
like similiar to the gpx but twice the weight
i also thought they were 3.5 not 3.0
probably more power than any other sedan ive driven (felt like it anyway, although i havent driven a lot <10 probably)
i just really like there seats though
i think ive said it before when someone else was talking about them, they are really soft leather, like the kind you sink into

and just so im clear
diamante is the verada?
are they both the same car but with a different name?

NZ gets the Jap spec diamante which is different to the australian magna

same as they also get the galant instead as a 4 door saloon similar to magna but 2.5 v6 in both NA and twin turbo (6A13TT)

The 3.5L V6 has a bit of balls behind it.

We also get the 3.0 MIVEC and a 3.5 MIVEC (at least I think for the last one)...
