evening, so as you might know i've only had my fto for 3 weeks or so now, and i'm still confused about my fuel speedo - generally on the stock it reads E - F on my dials it sais 8L - 60L where E is on stock is where my 8L is so when it hits the last bar is that on empty or 8l left? :/ - im assuming empty but then again ive never fully tested it - has anyone ever driven on empty
(until the Petrol sign comes up? )

ive never driven with the petrol light on
i have no idea when it comes on. ive driven when the needle has been below empty and it was on empty about 20km before hand
so im guessing that dial saying that you have about 8l left on e is pretty right

8l I would say is the "emergency tank" ... Or the reserve...
I think the most I have pushed when the fuel light was on, was 100k's ... Didn't want to risk anymore ...

i actually ran out of fuel once...
this was when my car was running like a bucket of crap and desperately needed a service. (in fact, where i normally get 600kms to the tank, at this stage i was getting just shy of 500)
I ran out fuel as i left my place to get fuel, it was up a pretty steep hill too.
i think i did about 70km after the light came on. and based on the fuel tank being 60L, i think i actually still had about 2L left but it didnt get to the pump because of the hill. this was all suburbia driving too, so no highway, but no bad traffic either.

You get 600k's to the tank ... Man, I am think the only time I have seen that amount of K's to a tank was when I was driving up to QLD ...

haha, turbo boys.
Least you don't drive an RVR
Re: globes, Jaycar dont have stock replacement T10 globes, go to an auto store.
Replace ALL globes at the same time with new ones, put the gel caps onto the new globes and done.
Makes a vast difference.
I have trialled LEDs, they are to much of a focused beam and leave large patches blank.

I think you'll find that the fuel will be travelling at the same speed as the rest of the car

I didn't know we needed dials to tell us that.
A
fuel gauge on the other hand... well that tells you how much fuel you have left in your car! Ah, the powers of (correct) language. Amazing really.

anyway, well i get about 450~500k's a tank for great western highway driving(plenty traffic lights), suburban driving and maybe 10-20% motorway.
i remember driving from canberra city to sydney, thats federal and hume hwy(pretty sure its both), and only used maybe a quarter to a quarter and a half according to the gauge and that was maybe 350k's ? Imagine if it was going to melbourne, i would of been seeing at least 750k's. Assuming i stay at the 100k~110kph mark.

You're getting Commonwealth Bank Association to change it for you?
HAHAHA just kidding simon, i know what you meant...
Anyway, maybe when i do my interior dials dressup, i might be assed to fix that bulb along with the cluster dressup..
