FTO GPX/GPvR (Manual Trans only)

Hey all,

During the coming 6 months or so, I will be looking around to buy a manual GPX or GPvR FTO (most likely a pre-facelift model due to my budget constraints) for up to the $10k mark. I'm currently driving a '99 Nissan Pulsar SSS Series 2, and will also be selling/trading that to go towards buying the FTO.

Very doubtful that I would be able to travel out of state for it, so it'll most likely be NSW only.

If anyone's thinking of selling theirs in the near future or knows someone who is or what not, feel free to just drop us a word :)
Thanks guys.

Hey mate,

WTTC, and check out the for cars sale section if you havnt already.. The gpvrs only came out in facelift version and will be reasonably hard to find a decent one under the 10k mark so if I was you I'd have my eyes peeled for a tidy gpx ;)

Goodluck & enjoy,
Cya around.

Thanks, yeah, as much as I like the facelift models, I'll just have to be happy with a pre-facelift one >.< haha :P

GPX it is! Cant wait to own one eventually

WTTC :D
I agree your best bet will be a GPX, there are some good ones out there around the 10K area.

haha, im sure I will too. There's someone in my neighbourhood who owns a silver GR, I see it parked across the road quite regularly. I'm almost tempted to write them a note along the lines of "giz drive" and leaving it under their wiper someday lol. Thanks for the club welcomes too, it seems like a very knowledgeable bunch of people and resources here which is awesome.

Here's hoping I dont have to refer to too many of the help/repair guides for my future car, but if I do, hell, it's time well spent working on an FTO I guess :D
Just gotta keep an eye out for the telltale problem signs like roof rust, tappety tappets, bad alternators, etc etc etc once im looking around

If i was you, i would look out for someone who has really taken care of there car and you can tell that they have..

Which in no offense to most people on here but the 'youngins' don't really do the best jobs at it and thrash the car while cold.. so if i was you I would try to stay away from those.. as hard as it may be.
It can be very deceiving.. Just my experience & my 2 cents...

Once again,
Goodluck!!

f**ck you

kustom does have a point though

some of the cars on carsales you'll find have been thrashed and a lot of people dont realise you cant put regular fuel in them so their engines can be quite sh*t

i dont know if this is the same with every sh*t engine
but my previous engine was in less than average condition and sorta backfired when it got up to the mivec range if i had the pedal to the floor, but that was the only noticeable thing between the two (apart from a bit of power difference).

also be wary that if the ac is broken it can be pricey to fix

Mine might be for sale in the next 6 months. Depends on where I am posted to next year though (I find out later today...hopefully).

FYI mine is a 97 Version R. Not interested at offers around 10K. If you have saved up more by then and my car for sale then, feel free to send me an offer :D .

Best of luck with your car hunt !
