Dyno Results

Had the car thoroughly checked over today and came back with a clean bill of health, except for the leaking cam seals! That was some cause for concern, but it will be fixed for nothing anyhow. Just a pain to have to get the car to Sydney and then pick it up again. Oh well. Will have to get it done before the trip south.
Also put it on the dyno while they had it. Came back with 133.4hp in third gear, or 99.48kw.
Now I know the inaccuracies and different dyno's give different results - you have been over that a few times now - but the car is absolutely stock so it will be interesting to see how the impending mods alter the results. It is not a brag (and the result was not unnaturally high or anything), just for interest sake.
Will be getting the UAS CAI in next day or two. Will be interesting to see what difference that makes.

which dyno was it on?
was it run in shoot out mode? if so what shoot out mode (Should be 6)
what was the ambient temp?
what was the humidity?
tip / manual?
if you have the answers for these things it'll help to gauge your results

It was run on a Dyno Dynamics Dyno (SDT Motor Sport), shootout mode 6, manual GPX.
Ambient temp & humidity - not sure. Was cool, about 18-19 degrees I would guess. Also, what are the figures across the bottom of the graph?
IT, RT, RH, RP, TN, RR, PL, CK
Tried to find something on the net, but was unsuccessful.

that dyno figure sounds about right if you factor in a typical 30% drivetrain loss on a FWD (and assuming you are using 98-octane fuel).
so yeah nice work! do you have a dynosheet that you can post up for us all to see? It'd be interesting to see if you have a 'dip' in the chart once the MIVEC kicks in...

I thought all GPX's & GPvR's did this, as isn't it caused by a slight delay that occurs when the engine switches from the normal cams to the MIVEC cams?

ok i'm just going to have to plug the mods i've helped develop
there is quite a large drop in power as the cams shift over from low to hi position... however with the mod's ive developed with UAS not only do you get pretty good power increases but the drop as the cams change is dramatically reduced.

I'll scan it and post it tonght.
Unfortunately, the graph has speed not RPM on the x axis. As such, it is hard to see exactly where the MIVEC kicks in. There is a very (very) small dip at around 130km/h (3rd gear remember), but looks a lot less than others I have seen.
Also - to the UAS guys, a big thank you. Got the CAI kit yesterday. Have to buy a new battery now (easier than trying to relocate it) as the new pipe does not fit. Anyhow, very well put together and speedy delivery.

ahhh you have a large battery... get rid of it

too much weight
the dyno shouldn't have RPM as they don't normally plug in a rpm monitor ... are you sure it isn't torque?

I just got a larger battery
Are you guys saying that the intake piping wount fit if you have a large battery?
This doesn't make sense. As the supports that hold down the battery are still the same between a large battery and a small one.
Am I going crazy or what. Please explain..................................

i think it's the size of the battery that's hindering the path of the piping, not the support bracket itself...

they sort of fit but it compresses the intake a bit ... and there are two different mounting points for large and small batteries

Dyno printout as promised.
Will be interesting once the UAS intake is done, tappets reset and seal replaced to see what the difference is.
Will know soon (hopefully).
