MRT rally suspension fitting price..

Hello,
I just got a quote from MRT rally that they can fit a KYB shocks on all four and while doing that put my old springs back on and they quoted me $1620.
Does this sound right?
I really don't know much about shocks pricing so wanted to see if this is on the expensive side or not...
Any comment would be much appreciated.

it doesnt sound like much of a bargain....
i would put their price breakdown at about $300 a strut and $400 for fitting. im sure you could get a better price for KYB struts if you did a little more shopping around.

you should break down the price between parts and labour.
if it was me i would just get the parts from the place that quotes the best price, and as for installation any trained mechanic can fit them.

Hey Stephen,
How much do you think Uniqe could do it for?
KYB shocks on all four.
Take out the existing spring and replace with my old one.
I'm sure they can do this while replacing the shocks.
Would you be able to get a quote from them?
Cause I tried getting some replies from them but it's very hard to talk to them unless you go in directly..
Just a simple quote if you could would be great.
Otherwise, I guess I've got some more hopping to do...

which model of kybs?????
maybe check wiht tanya as her car is booked in already for new shocks later in the month... swapping the springs is a piece of pie so i wouldn't expect it to cost anything much to do that

$840- for the shocks ($240ea for front & $180ea for rear) - can't remember the part no.. (left paperwork at work
) ..
they reckon about 3-4 hours for the labour - prob even up at $1200 fitted. I had my girl lowered not too long ago - so springs in mine are fine.
Nothing like cutting it fine and managing to get it done JUST before Mallacoota

i cant believe that takes 3-4 hours
ive had all fours installed for $200 - thats about the standard labour charge for most suspension shops, but of course such highly skilled mechanics at these tuning shops not only charge more per hour, but quote longer hours... interesting....

what unqiue do is try and over quote on the time required then come in under that amount... gives the customer a warm fuzzy feeling
