Twin Exhaust

Hi all,
I am considering going for twin exhausts, but seeing as thought I have a standard bumper, am wondering if I should go all out and get a new rear bar...or just have my old one cut...or nothing at all
Anyone who has twin exhaust, do you have any pics or info on how they sit under the standard bar? or if you have had yours cut?
I dont really want to get a new rear bar, as I dont want to get a kit until later on... has anyone else done similar with a standart rear bar?
Thanks!
Mark

ummm, i think Kazbah, Kaveman and ICE_FTO has had twin exhausts fitted on their car... however Adrian (ICE_FTO) has a Veilside rear bar and it looks better with the twin exhausts IMO.
What i'm interested in is how the system is put together (in terms of the piping design etc)

Well I think I have what you wanna see. Mine has the standard rear bumper with a mirrored cut out on the kerbside to match the factory cutout.
I'm not convinced that you'd get as good a finish if you didn't cut out the other side (as in if you just hung the tips/mufflers under the bumper) unless you filled in the factory hole. But that is just my personal opinion. Also bear in mind whether you want just twin tips with one central muffler or twin mufflers like I have. It is a bit more expensive and fiddly to do the latter for obvious reasons.
Here's a couple of pics for you anyway:

it was a customer hitech muffler job. the previous owner had already done it... i just fixed up the piping to the tips since they were a bit crooked and uneven in length

Man that looks sweet! Especially like the twin tips!
Bottom line though - how much $ and where do you get the modification done to the bumper? I guess the latter is actually an easy one to answer, but what is the cost?
It has just moved to the top of my "to do" list!

it that system properly designed or is it just an additional muffler from the back of the system?

I was just quoted $300 to cut out my standard bumper for twins, seeing as though they have to respray it
I understand that, but its almost the cost of a new rear bar...what to do..what to do. I think I will just have to go one for now

What about the modification to the exhaust? There were the two options -approx cost of both?
And what about performance? Would it lead to a drop in power? I would think it might, but of course it may not be noticable.

you coould get a new rear bumper, but then you would have to spay that anyways for around 250. imho stick with the stock bumper cause its the best looking one
