Follow Koolio1234's diy, its a pretty easy one which I am using right now with a little of my own modification to it. Its still serving me well.

That's the UAS kit isn't it? Just wash the filter with water but let it dry naturally. I'm not sure if I remember someone telling me that you can use soaps or detergent to help though. Then use that k&n air filter oil kit or any good brand... Meanwhile, use a temporary air filter. The stock airbox can be used with the UAS pipe which I will do when my time comes :).

yeah i bought the k&n air filter oil cleaner kit and gave it a wash.
i was just wondering if i could just replace the cover of the pod filter with a boxed one? i have like a plastic cover or something.
if i box it and change my pod to an apexi power intake will it make a difference in performance?

also i see some intake pipes with a box in between the pipes :S what is the purpose of it?

the intakes with the box in between the pipe are the GR version, and it is a MAF sensor, as I'm guessing you have a GPX don't worry about it.
Also if you currently have a UAS set up on your car and you want to change to an apexi power intake I will happily take the UAS pipe off your hands ;)

ooohh alright. the UAS pipe? is that the big black thing that connects to the engine?
if i get a power intake air filter does that mean i have to change my pipes too?

yep, it's the UAS CAI kit (Big thick black pipe, air filter, cold air feeder pipe and box enclosure). I wouldn't be letting that go too quickly if I was you. It's a good part and they don't make them any more. The filter is supposed to be oiled, it helps to catch dust n sh*t before it gets to your engine. You won't notice much difference with anything else, I really wouldn't bother changing it. Just keep it clean by washing it and re oiling it every service, that's what I used to do.

That car also has the UAS engine pipes with flex joint. Check out the parts catalogue for the FTO at http://www.uniqueautosports.com/ for more details.

I agree! The UAS kit you have there gpx000 is a great intake kit! You will gradually realize how valuable that big black pipe is. I say leave it as it is, it's great! I have the same kit! Except I had to make my box since I did not get it.

he said he was selling it but im not sure of the price? how much should i get it off him? how much are the boxes worth :?

If you're talking about the stock airbox, you will either have to use a panel filter with it or specific other filters that will fit inside the box.

yeah i just looked at the UAS filter its massive haha. i dont think a normal box will fit. do you have a box that fits the UAS filter as well? do you have a photo that im able to see just so i know how big its meant to be.

gholdwayne i took a photo but ddnt know how to upload it but this is what it looks like. it seems bigger than i thought. so will modding the box be difficult? is this what you have too?
