Catalytic converter must be in all road car exhaust systems.

Catalytic converter Is a fine mesh filter in a muflfler that breaks up exhaust gas That keeps the EPA happy. It's not a muffler but must be in the system. There is differance number or size of holes 100 big holes, 400 fine holes. 200 meets epa standard on fto. 100 may not on some cars.

They all are mate.
a cat is just short for catalytic converter.
You should do a search on here there is some really good info on exhaust

Bro, here's a quickie rundown on the exhaust anatomy
From Engine to Ass end, the exhaust system consists of:
Extractors > Downpipe > Cat(or catalytic converter) > Catback pipes > Muffler with Tips...
Now depending on the noise level you want, the Catback Pipe will consist of the required Resonators - they help control the raspiness, and the tone.
Post a pic of underneath your car and we may be able to identify some things visually and help you further...

I have a high flow but never use it too lazy to swap them over

, it maybe straight through at the moment and im very happy with it

I will give $50 to any cop who pulls me over and can get down low enough and even see that I dont have one

You won't really give $50 to anyone that easily.
I also have the magnaflow 200cpi cat, and I'm happy.
So with the decat pipe, how does the sound compare to say, a high flow cat ?

A bit tiny there...
Wondering how mine would sound like if I take out 1 of the 2 16odd inch resonators

.
But have you heard your car from the rear though? i.e. not just from the cabin driving?
