Hey guys, yesterday I drove to the shops & my car was fine.
As I went to leave I started her up and noticed my engine was much louder and sounds sick. Very sick. I'm gonna take her in to the mechanic to see what they say it is but thought id post up here aswell.

It doesn't go away with clutch in/clutch out and is there in all gears/neutral, aircon/powersteering still works and still hits mivec.
It's a 1994 Manual GPX (Mivec) with just over 125,000k's.

EDIT: Its not normally so loud and ticky kinda. Hard to explain and hard to hear with the video but thought it was worth a shot, need anymore info, please ask away.

Cheers boys,
Stef.

It has not got a rhythm, beat about it so it's not a spun bearing. It's maybe mivec control solonoid. Is the mivec coming when its rev's.? :|

It could be the bearings on the alternator, when you rev it does it change the sound.

How much does a water pump cost and do you have to take off the timing belt assembly?

$80 + nightmare.

Yep, she's all gotta come off. May as well do the belt, idler & tensioner pulley while you're at it.

Having said that, I've never heard of an FTO pump making those sorts of noises...

What about a alternator bearing?
