Hi guys,

Does anyone know if the engine blocks are painted from factory?
I had my engine fully rebuilt and I noticed the block is not painted at all. Should it be painted as iron rusts?

You should be alright... No need, however, if you have a GR, painting the rocker cover looks better than in a GPX(has a bigger plastic engine cover)...

I'm going to put my little question - lets just say its a progression within the same subject  ::

Does painting the intake manifold with satin black engine enamel affect it's temp enough to not do it?

Block is painted black from the factory.

If you had a full rebuild, the block would have been acid bathed if done properly, which would explain why its not painted.
Doesnt really mater if its not, no rust in the world is good enough to get through 2 inches of solid iron.

If the motor is ever out, how would I paint it?
ie, do I need to rub off the surface rust etc?

And yes Bennoz I assume it must have been acid bathed before the rebuild hence no paint
