A solution to my front bar problem is to throw some bigger rims on the car, although this goes against my grain in doing so.
Not sure what the biggest rim is that fits on the FTO but i would be looking for some 18's i think would do the trick.
Not after any chrome at all, or dinner plates - something simple like a nice 5 spoke enkei design or something similar (chink's wheels are dead sexy as a reference)
Let us know if you have a spare set somewhere (doesnt have to have rubber on them my tyres are almost due for my style of driving anyway)
Would also have a set of black stocko's up for grabs also (so if your keen for a swap + cash even better)
Can pick up from brisbane
Cheers

I like how you think sir
18's should be fine.. what suspension do you have? You might need to take some time deciding what tyre sizes to go for as the thing you will be most worried about is rubbing... Depending on the offset too, you might need to look at flattening the guards...

dont have any front guards in right now, so rubbing wont really be a problem, have KYB's in right now - just after a half decent set of used 18's to have a quick fix on this problem, scrapes on bloody everything its ridiculous but it looks way to good to go back
Ill figure out all that once i can get a hold of some rims, ill work around them not the other way around i probably cant be too picky here i imagine

So you're wanting to modify your suspension, change your odomoter, and buy new rims and tyres, instead of just raising the car back to it's original height?
Also why buy new rims when you can just buy bigger tyres? Not that it resolves your issue since you still would have to do all the other stuff.

Lol, Buying bigger rims, unless you want to pay a lot for an odd sized tire, you will be going down in profile size as well; thus, not even raising the car. Also, you said its 40mm to low? thats one and a half inches, so assuming your running stocks youd need to be running atleast a 19inch rim and keep the same profile to obtain that.

The simple solution here is to buy some stock shocks and struts and throw them in the car instead of your lowered setup.

Then the car would look like sh*t again, which would defeat the whole purpose of getting a new front bar in the first place (to make it look better)
Think i might just have to deal with the pigs/scraping till i can find some bigger rims

seriously dude it'd look rubbish with massive 19s and high profile tires anyway...
IMO, put some stock springs back in (or higher aftermarket ones) then give me your lowered springs :p

Pfft would never go 19's - they would be exceptionally clean 18's (with absolutely NO chrome or any dinner plate resemblance)
Not looking to raise it much, but just enough to not scrape on EVERYTHING, and maybe just a few bumps every now n then, maybe 20mm?
Just dont want to sacrifice the lowered look of the car, looks mint how it is now (if only there was no such thing as speed humps or driveways

)
Might just have to keep it how it is and walk my ass to places my car cant go...

Anything below 100mm is a defect. As a P plater in a sports car, you're already going to attract attention. You're giving the police a reason to bend you over that bumper and [Censored]. Also changing the diameter of your tyres requires an engineers cert I do believe. I know you're not allowed to change the size normally bar a small amount.

I also have no spare tyre, my pod is illegal and numerous other things that is illegal with my car, im sure one more thing isnt going to be the straw that breaks, and i honestly couldnt care if it does - also cruzing around with no p plates on - and i must say i havent been looked at twice once, as soon as i put em back on i can guarantee within a week ill get raped.
I like my odds personally...

Re-read my post man your not gonna gain 20mm from changing 'rimz' just fuckn deal with it man & quit your complaining or raise your car. For fucks sake. Make a choice you can't have both if you can't do angles.

Jesus rollerblading Christ Kustom, how bout you change that tampon and have another cigerrette you crazy bastard! (10 points if yoi get the reference)
Dunno what's up your ass but you should probably go see a proctologist it something.
Angle doesn't mean sh*t. its like trying to jump a kerb with a lowered car, no matter how much angle you put on it its going to scrape I honestly don't know why u can't understand that...

Easy on mods. Cornering can be hazardous when going thru corners then hitting a bump while still in turning motion, the rubbing can impede the steering which leads to handling problems, tire shred. Dude, in the 90's (glory days of mods) many crashes are caused by bad tire rubbing, they dropped like flies in the wet.
