central locking not working

hey boys and girls,

when i bought my car the central locking wasnt working i thought it may have just been the batterys in the key but i got them replaced any ideas what it could be and how much it will cost to fix? and can i do it my self im a newbie so i hope its not to complicated.

sorry im such a newb im 17 dont no much about cars how do i check the fuses? like where are they and how do i no if there working properly?, its my first car and have pretty much no knowledge on them.

checked the fuses were fine? so what does it mean now all the electrical is shot?

could mean your master solenoid is shot, could mean a wire is disconnected, could mean 12v is not getting to the master.

In not being overly confident with removing anything, I would perhaps take it to an auto electrician, or perhaps if someone more knowledgable is close by they could take a look.
Perhaps add your location to your details so people know where you're located.

All of those things above are reasonably easy fixes, having said that, if you've never touched a spanner in your life it can be daunting.

If you are willing to give things a try, then start by inspecting under your dash board, just have a look to see if there is anything obvious, 2 connections not put together etc.
Do your side mirrors fold in and electric windows work? that would be a sign power is not getting to your drivers door for starters.
It's all about deduction.

my dads friend is a auto electrician ill prob take it there, ive worked on dirt bikes regularly but things are bit different and on a smaller scale. but i think ill leave it cause sometimes when i take thins apart they dont always go back together.
