Recommended Products List

In my search for products to use on my vehicles in the past and present I have discovered some good products and I have discovered some terrible products.

I started this thread to allow for recommendations of products e.g. polish, waxes, cleaners, sprays.

To make a recommendation for other members to try please put the following;
1) Products complete name
2) Products purpose according to the label, eg; degreaser, polisher
3) Where you bought the product eg; repco, supercheap auto
4) Price where you purchased the product
5) Your rating out of 10 as some products are good but not the best
6) General comments and why you recommend the product

Hopefully later we can all use this as a guide to making our cars shinier or cleaner.

Cheers ;)

My first two recommendations inspired me to create this thread to help inform people of the products and to find out what other people use instead.

1) Meguiar’s Cleaner Wax
2) Cleans, polishes & protects, with a high shine gloss
3) Repco
4) Can’t remember price, tried to buy more the other day but didn’t have it in stock
5) 9.5 out of 10
6) The product cleans all paint work and even plastics up nicely. Removes blemishes and some stains. I thought my engine bay was clean until I started getting into it with this product. I have a white engine bay that actually is starting to look white again. Also removes grease and oil that inconsiderate people leave on your bonnet…

1) K&N Power Kleen
2) Designed to remove all oils, grease and contaminants from your pod/air filter system
3) Repco
4) $24.14 (was on special, not sure on full price)
5) 9.5 out of 10
6) The cleaner removed all oils and grease from the filter as well as the dirt, simply spray and rinse. Works instantly, three or four washes has it coming back to new. The pack even comes with the K&N oil to put back on your filter ready for reuse

In keeping with the "clean theme", I'll put one up for our motors:

1) Unifilter Air Filter
2) It's a direct-replacement air-filter, but is made from a fine foam that will filter down to 3microns (standard paper is about 25micron, K&N 80micron)
3) fleabay
4) I think it was about $125 for the combo bucket, but that's for a triton.
5) 9/10. Allows for a fantastic induction noise through the standard air box.
6) I use this heavily and swap them out every 5000-7500kms. Mainly because I do a lot of highway driving and lots of dust. This is a good compromise between air-flow and filtering ability, as it flows at about 80% of a K&N, but filters lots more. You do need to be careful when re-oiling though, as too much can burn out the MAF Sensor.

Brake clean. Screw degreaser, spray it on, gets more off than degreaser and you don't need to rinse. Best stuff.
