Rear Suspension Creaking & Squeaking

So today I noticed that my car has developed a creaking and squeaking noise from the rear passenger side suspension. As I take off there is a loud creak and while driving there is a less noticeable continuous squeaking noise.

I will be changing most suspension components soon but want to know what would be the most likely culprit.

Also, are there any polyurethane anti roll bar bushes for the GPvR? I have been looking around and can't seem to find them.

I'd be willing to wager a 50 It'd be the rear swaybar bushes as mentioned above ;)

I re-greased all mine just before the bonfire.

As Phil says, they're easy to source in poly, just a simple D bracket bush. Part number SPF2004/18 (where 18 denotes the thickness of the swaybar in mm) 17mm for GR, 18mm for GPX, 20mm for vR.

Yeah, suspected that it was the sway bar bushes. Thanks Bennoz.

Thanks for the offer Phil but it would be easier if I ordered them locally.

Also, where would be the cheapest place to buy GPvR droplinks from? Cheapest I have found is £60 shipped ($90).

vR rears are the same as most FTO's (Except GRs.)

Can get them for $50 delivered from Ebay: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2-REAR-SWAY- ... 27b4bc66d1

Also, I made a typo above, version R rear bushes are 20mm, not 21mm ;)

From memory they're the same as the 01-06 Pajeros.

If you get some measurements over to Autochassisking (same ebay guy who sells the fronts) he'll be able to match some up for you.

I was wondering why I went to bed so early, I checked my esky & I'd only drunk 8 of my beers... but then I remembered, the Boags you gave me, then the red wine, then the cherry bourbon with Lawso

Also, while we are on the topic of bushes. Which other ones should I look at replacing (front and rear)?

:cheeky:

If you're doing all the bushes, do the front control arm bushes (1 front of arm, 1 rear of arm) and the front swaybar bushes. All the info you need is on about page 3 or 4 of the suspension thread, stickied up top of the technical section.

Aright Bennoz, just a few more questions and I will leave you alone.

What alignment settings do you recommend/prefer? Camber, Castor, Toe.

Do you recommend offset front arm bushes or standard ones?

What was the maximum amount of negative Camber you can have on the Tein tops with standard shocks?

Alignment settings are a personal thing. For street use I'd just get it toe'd straight.

Yes, I prefer the 'anti lift' bushes on the front control arms, gives you approx 2-3 degrees positive castor & about half a degree neg camber.

The Tein tops will only get you about a degree more neg camber before the springs start hitting the underside of the turrets.

So, straight toe, + 2-3 deg castor, & -1.5 deg camber will give you a fairly sporty feel. You may also want to match the rears with -1.5 deg neg camber as well. They have factory camber adjustment.

Just gave Bursons a call to get a price on the front offset lower control arm rear bushes and they quoted me $150. Whereas from Camskill they are only 54GBP ($82) excl. VAT. (Yes I do know about the additional shipping fees).

But what I would like to know is why Australian made parts are so much cheaper over there.

I've found that Bursons have a nasty mark up. Unless you've got a trade account, they're expensive.

Why not try Fulcrum direct?

If it's still too dear, I can get you a set, I have access to a Superpro trade account.
