Rocker Cover Leak

Hi, I have a leak from my rocker cover gasket/cam seals. Any good gasket kits out there?

Thought you did not take the cover off. The timing cover actually covers part of the rocker cover, so I'm pretty sure it's your rocker leaking inside your timing cover. You can just use sealant, does the same crap really.PHIL069 wrote:It's leaking from the back of the rear rocker cover, out of the cam caps on the back of the engine and also oil coming from behind the timing cover towards the top of the engine, have not take cover off yet for a look.
What about the cam caps on the back of the engine? If I have to take off the intake to get to the rear rocker cover, then I might as well replace the rocker cover gaskets.payaya wrote:Thought you did not take the cover off. Also due to age your gaskets go hard so you need more torque on your rocker cover bolts, give them a bit more of a turn, could stop the leak.
Yup, but I noticed the leak when doing the tappets so I just made sure I got it nipped up tight then bought the gasket for it. I've had that rocker cover off half a dozen times since and just keep forgetting to replace itPHIL069 wrote:Don't you have to remove the intake chamber to get to the rear rocker cover, seems a lot of work to not replace while you are there.

Just pull the cover and have a look. Rocker leak is still my guess.PHIL069 wrote:I just had a look and yes the half moon, but their not as bad as I thought. The main leak is from behing the timming cover near the alternator and the rocker gasket nearest to the cabin
