Hi All,

Doing my first ever service on a car and need some advise on Gearbox Oils. Been going over some of the threads here and omg brainmushingconfusion

For Gearbox Oil the Manual says to use "Hypoid gear oil SAE 75W-90 or 75W-85W conforming to API GL-4"

What is better for a smoother shift, 75W-90 or 75W-85W?

I'm currently looking at getting either of these:
> Penrite Sin Manual Trans Gearbox Oil - http://www.penriteoil.com.au/products/m ... nual_trans
> Nulon 75W-85W Smooth Shift Gearbox Oil - http://www.nulon.com.au/products/Gear_a ... 5qPxqsaa8B

Are both of these suitable and which do you guys think will be better?

Not sure if it matters but I'll be putting in Penrite HPR 10 Full Synthetic Oil in for the Engine.

Cheers guys,
Cameron

DO a search. I've already stated in several threads DO NOT USE PENRITE SIN!

Another thing I found whilst searching was that a few people have gone for Castrol Syntrax... But according to the Castrol website, that is a GL-5 oil. Where as the Castrol Syntrans is a GL-4 oil.

From what I gathered, the GL-5 was not good for our gearboxes?
