New radiator hoses arrived today thanks to dstocks :D

Couple of things - Im wanting to paint them blue, would simply spraying on some engine enamel work?

Also, with fitment, is it as simple as it looks? e.g. Just undoing the clamps and swapping them, or do I need to do anything else first?

Cheers.

You need to take out your tail lights to get access to install them :troll:
Yes, just clamps hold them on may have to cut the old ones off depending how fucked they are
And I wouldn't spray them lol

If you want blue hoses, then buy Samcos'.

You don't paint rubber.

That's not the only option, you can wrap them in Silicone Rescue Tape as Dwayne and I have done with the UAS pipe.

That's true, but given the amount of extra heat on the rad pipes, would that be suffice?

I would assume so, as that is one of it's intended uses (sealing a damaged hose) and is able to withstand temperatures of up to 260 degrees.

Fair enough.

If your hoses are stuck on, giving them a rotational twist can help crack them off the radiator :D
If you can't get the new ones on, boiling hot water from the kettle poured onto the ends of the hoses will soften them giving an easier fitment :D

Ok cool. Is there anything I should remove first? Like the pipe from the coolant reservoir or something? Or will I just have to drain the whole thing?

In regards to samcos - That was the plan but I simply dont have the money for them right now, especially considering they arent necessary at the moment. Dont wanna pay double the price for a colour

When you take the bottom radiator hose off it will all drain out anyway.
If you want to flush the "coolant bottle" just stick the garden hose in it and turn the tap on full.
Stick the garden hose in the top of the radiator too, when you have both hoses off, it will flush it out.
When it's back together and you have filled with new coolant, run the engine with the radiator cap off and top up as required until no more bubbles come up and the cooling fans start spinning, put cap on and drive, recheck levels after cooling down.

Or take the hoses off it and pull it out... It's just wedged in there
As for draining, there is a butterfly plastic screw on the bottom ofthe radiator. Just undo that

If you are going to reuse the old coolant, which I wouldn't, or want to drain into a bucket then the butterfly is the right option.
If you are just going to drain onto the lawn then bottom hose will drain quicker :D
