FTO AUSTRALIA

first FTO and not had it that long. I was doing oil and water checks and in the coolant expansion tank/reservoir I noticed there is a hose that goes from the top and down the back of the tank but doesnt attach to anything.
Is this right? is it just a breather?
probably a really dumb question but engine bay layout is still new to me on the FTO

That tank is for overflow and it there is to much water/coolant it will use that hose just to run out of the whole system I have it to as would everyone

thanks bud thats put my mind at rest, used to vw/audis and never seen that type of open hose before but was hoping it was just that. drove 400 nile round trip a few weeks ago and the cars still alive so didnt think it was anything too important.
