Hi All,
My Fto is been sitting in garage for a while now. The battery has completely died. I am considering upgrading the battery to a larger one. Any suggestions from supercheapauto, as to which brand and how much CCA? the fto is stock standard GR Auto.
Cheers,
Rj

so measure your tray, and when you go into buy it, measure the battery?

Yep..thats exactly what i am going to do..sorry, i guess my last post sounded like a question..
I have searched the forum and most posts suggest upgrading to bigger battery 500 CCA and up, as the nissan micra batt sucks for fto.

Mine has a horridly small battery, i'd be lucky to get 15Mins of radio with the engine off, before it gives up.

Technikhaus - time to upgrade
I got the century 550 CCA battery and plugged it in. All went well and there is no charge dispersal. Although while installing the batt, I connected the positive red and the black cable that came along with it to +. When tightening the bolt, it just had a huge spark with loud noise. I thought I had cooked the internal circuit by now. Then I managed to connect the black cable to the - end. Now the car runs fine and there is no sparks or issues. I am going to take it to auto electrician on the weekend to recrimp the battery leads, as they are quite lose at the moment(one of the reasons why it sparked).
Anyone knows why we have an extra black cable with the positive lead(red cable), apart from the black cable for
negative lead??
Red Cable and Black cable connects to +
Black cable connects to -
Cheers.

You connected it up right. The positive has two cables connected to the positive terminal which is the feed from your alternator and the feed to the starter motor.
