actual carbon fibre or the 3M stuff?

if it's actual carbon, then it should just be a matter of prep (i.e. slight sand/clean the surface), apply resin and carbon; allow to cure for approx 20mins (till almost dry), then apply gel coat; allow to dry, sand as required. for larger bits, i.e. the aircon thingo, you might want to use a little spray adhesive to loosely tack the carbon in place first.

make sure there are no air bubbles.

3M stuff... I guess u need to clean the surface, then use a heat gun to make the film easier to apply into the correct shapes etc...

door cups are impossible to do, as is the upper console to a reasonable degree i did a spare one but im not a fan of where the lines have to intersect
you had to pick the 2 hardest panels on the car

honestly if your dead set on having them both in carbon fibre, get them dipped like dwayne - it will look 20x better on those panels compared to wrap

Door cups aren't impossible. I have done them. Just requires a lot of patience while stretching with the heat gun.

I tried, i really did, it makes it almost impossible without resorting to having overlap or a join seam etc. Just gave up on mine
would be so much easier and for basically the same price to get em dipped and have a perfect weave pattern etc

Perhaps it's because you are using DI NOC. Took me about 30 minutes for each door cup with the Scotchprint 1080. And with a single piece. No overlapping or joins.

The DashBoard Centre does the dipping, I can dig through my emails and get quotes for you for door cups and upper centre console from when I emailed them. http://www.dashboardcentre.com.au/produ ... cts_id=218

Bad news... they didn't quote individual parts for me; they gave me an all up cost, sorry mate :S... But they quoted me $590 to do door handles + cups, gear surround and upper centre console. So I wouldn't think that it would be all that much just for door cups and upper centre console, probably a few hundred....
