so lately i seem to miss 2nd, 4th and now ive discovered reverse, so all the lower gears, anyone think of a reason why, it happens a lot if i wind the previous gear out but even when i dont it has still done it, and my gear stick feels very sloppy and soft going into those gears,
the guys at work said it may be the selecters? or the cables from gearbox to the gearstick, and to tighten them, anyone know a good way to explain how to do that or any other reasons as to why this could happen :/

i really cbf taking pictures and wiriting a guide.
basically on top of the gearbox you will see 2 cables held in by clips, and then they go into the manual shifter housing and clip into the bottom of the shifter in much the same way. Make sure those are tight. They are easy to get to as ewell if your just tightening them

Selector bracket. Search on this site for it.

I did this not long after I bought my FTO. Mine was welded on because it snapped in a couple places in the joints. http://ftoaustralia.com/v3/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=26348

Step 1: Buy new selector bracket via Dstocks. Part numbers are MR953260, MD748651 or MD749667.
Step 2: Upon receiving the brackets, take out battery, battery tray, bracket for battery tray. Should be able to see it from the top, it's a tight fit but with the right tools you'll be right.
Step 3: Keep the bracket bolted on, now remove the spring clips that hold the cables in place. Those things are little c*nts to remove, I'd use some vice grips or something along those lines. Grip them and slide them up.
Step 4: Once clips are undone, remove cables from the bracket (should just easily slide out) then unbolt the old one.
Step 5: Reverse the steps and it should be all good.
