Replacement Struts

Hi All
I am new to the club and have quite a problem.

Recently bought my son a 94 FTO Mivec it is his first car and it had TEIN Coilovers installed.

Had to send them away to be checked and have been quoted by Fulcrum $2200 to rebuild them.

This is NOT an option

Can anyone here tell me if there are any 2nd hand preferrably coilovers around and if so if they are worth getting.

Secondly if i have to replace them with std Struts i will need the top strut spring caps and springs as well as the struts

any suggestions would be appreciated

Urgent

Thanks Tim

I cant comment on coilovers, but a set of KYB Excel G will get you out of trouble without hurting your pocket too much (around $500 for all 4). Add a set of brand new king springs (just over $200) and 2 new front strut tops (around $70 each) and that should pretty much cover it.

And if you wanted 2nd hand stockies (or some 2nd hand components), youll get them much cheaper.

Thanks Dstocks

quoted $190 per pair king springs but could not guarantee fitting but would take them back if didnt fit

as for the kyb i was told they have rears in stock but never imported fronts for a 1994 FTO

i still need the spring to shock mounts for all four shocks

but i do have the tower to top mounts

thanks for the quick assist

Tim

Front shocks are the same as a 1998 Volvo S40 without the "Sports Suspension). Part Numbers are;

Front Left:334155
Front Right: 334154
Rears (x2): 341140

Coils;
Front: KMFL-93
Rears: KCRL-46

Strut Tops;
Front: SM6756 (From Bursons)
Rear: BSK006

Give those part numbers to your local bursons and they'll be able to get all the parts you need.

This ^^

Ahhh of course, forgot about those.

I can probably dig up 2nd hand ones if that helps. Oh and if the strut tops are new and cost you more than around $75 each,you are being ripped. They are the same as a CE lancer from memory. Some places put in a special **grey import markup** margin on top. You want to avoid this....

Thanks to all for the effort.

All going well at the moment fitting in between work and sleep.

Have the front all but finished, Damn those front sway bar bushes are hard to get at even with the cross member dropped.

If anyone needs to know the tie rod ends for a 95 do not fit a 94, Pedders part # for 94 is PTE730 and they fitted
the ones listed by TRW do not fit a 94 (at least not our 94)

Thanks again to all for the effort

I done mine without dropping the subframe or cross member ;)

I used these tie rod ends...
