Missing/hesitating during heavy acceleration & brake issues

So apparently it never ends.. Currently if I put the pedal to the floor the engine is almost guaranteed to miss/hesitate before going - revs are unrelated. Recent changes include new spark plugs, changed fuel pump & new map sensor.
So far I've been told it's either the ignition leads, fuel pump or the timing (needs a tune-up) - anyone else experienced the same problem?
ALSO! - my rear left brake likes to lock up and overheat, though it's happened once on the right side but never on the front. If I brake the smallest bit too much, the brake doesn't release properly - stays on, causes drags and as a result overheats. It happens whether I use the foot brake or hand brake, so it's not a hydraulic issue, anyone got any ideas on what is playing up? I'll be taking them apart tomorrow so all feedback is appreciated!
Cheers guys

Seized caliper.

Checked your coilpacks?

You said you changed plugs recently - did you check all gaps were correct? Coilpacks and plugs are fitted properly?

Just took the caliper apart and yes, the piston was completely shot so I'll be getting a new one.

I didn't check the gaps of the spark plugs, but I had no problems at all the first two months so assumed if the gaps were out - I would have noticed the problem as soon as I put them in, same with the coil packs as I haven't touched them since changing plugs, but I'll check them out tomorrow. What's the best way of doing this by the way?

You changed the fuel pump did you do the filter as well?

Yeah the filter was done about 2 months ago.
Has anyone reading this own a spare rear left brake caliper? I need one asap!

Just crimp the line for the time being..
Take it off and rebuild it, its probably just seized.

See the problem is when the brake overheated real bad, the caliper was literally red hot & apparently damaged one of the bolts holding it on, as when I went to loosen the caliper, one of the bolts just snapped off - so I can't put it back on. The piston itself has seen a lot better days, so I'm not sure if a rebuild kit would do it as it only comes with the seals and boots.

Is the miss more of a jolt? Does it have any relation to pedal position?

Not really.. if I'm sitting on low revs and put it to the floor it'll miss, or if i reach high enough revs it'll miss & sometimes it misses more than once (cuts in and out)

Check your ignition leads for arcing.

Did you degrease and wash down your engine since putting in new plugs?
If yes, water can easily run into your spark plug tubes if your not carefull, this water than then cause the arcing or earthing of the leads/plugs and as such cause your engine to miss.
I know this from experience
