RBT'd while working. Driving back to the shop in a full dominos uniform, cap + hairnet and all, with a stack of pizza boxes on my passenger seat..
"We have stopped you for the purpose of a random breath test, blah blah"
"No worries mate"
"Had anything to drink in the last few hours?"
"No sir" (Should've said yeah a glass of coke and a coffee)
"Ahh.. you working at the moment mate?"
Well, f**k, give this one a promotion to detective inspector. Bravo, sherlock.. bravo. What a genius.

You should've just said, "Nah, this is my out-on-the-town get up. Chics dig a man who's employed."

"Nah mate just heading to kings cross to hit the pubs and clubs..
is this your day off as well, officer?"
I was seriously tempted to reply "nah mate, you?"

I can just imagine an officer saying he does it for sh*ts and giggles in his spare time.

Hahaha I reckon if you got decked out in uniform properly and just rocked up and said you were the new guy it'd work

(Maybe not for police, but for most jobs)

I had the same thing happen to me when I was working at Pizza Hut.. Bright green Shirt with logo and matching hat..
But I replied "No.. I wear this uniform for social activities"
I walked away with a defect for tinted side indicators and a lose battery stand, after he shook the sh*t out of it which moved the whole car...
I should have used the "Honest drinkstable I haven't had a c**t all night"

There has been talk lately of me becoming a manager, they said they'd start training me soon because our store manager works too often

As is with most retail/fast food etc - they say they will, but in reality they wont.
What will happen is youll get trained, and know how to run the store etc but you wont officially get the title or the pay packet either - instead youll be stuck doing a job youre not getting paid correctly for. Ive been there, mrs has, few of my mates have etc

If they can get you doing the job without shelling out extra for you, they will - theres always some excuse not to promote you officially

Just saying dude

Happens almost everywhere - not saying youre not right for the job etc just saying it happens and dont be too surprised if they give you the screw around for as long as possible....
But if they do fast track it and get you there, then congrats

We have to have at least one manager rostered on at a time. A fully recognized manager. At the moment, our store manager is doing up to 7 shifts a week, some up at 17 hours a piece. The whole reason for this is because they need new recognized managers to cut the work load down.
