Isn't that one of Dwayne's bonnet? Did the car belong to any member? Any history?

Cheers

ooooo CarMate.... did the bonnet fit fine? Is it a light weight bonnet needing bonnet clips?
Have asked him for some more pics. :)

Edit: Ah nvm, Carmate says, use it with pins. Did it fit flush or had alignment issues?

It was the CF one.. But I had a slight prang which scratced the CF and put a small crack in it. So gave to Dwayne and he got it repaired and painted.

It fit the cars well, and I got a new CF one through insurance. It fits fine as well, and is on my black FTO now.

I have had it for years and no bonnet pins. No issues. I think Taz had an issue where it popped open and smashed his windscreen. There was talk if it wasn't closed properly or bonnet failure..

Reading that post, it seems as though you're willing to give them away.
Since Shadow isn't here, I certainly will take them.

Yeah, same dilemma, not too enthused of drilling in to the carbon bonnet. :?

Well it isn't really carbon fibre. It is only the top layer that is carbon fibre to give it the look. The rest is fibreglass.

Tell you what I love are the AeroCatch's. Good legal bonnet catches, I've got them on my fiberglass bonnet on my GPvR. Works a treat but costs a bit to get them. Can be an issue to fit though... the vertical pins and the horizontal pins cant be a$$es to line up...

Granted, but there's still the risk of is cracking/ splitting.

I have watched videos and guides, but... yeah.

Well you can use the Aero Catch pins as kiz suggested. They require a larger hole that can be cut out with a rotary tool. Would reduce the chance of splitting caused by drilling.

That is what I have..

And it is not the fact that it is carbon/fg, it is the fact if they slip and scratch the cf they simply cant paint it and fix it..

They have to shell out over 1k to replace it..
