I'm with spetz on this one..

I was always more of a Red Dwarf fan, still am. I have all the Dr. Who's and Torchwood episodes, but believe it or not haven't even seen more than 10 episodes in total.

However I do watch the entire Battle Star Galactica series on a twice yearly basis

I love BSG, both old and new I tell everyone that Katie Sackhoff is my future wife
Red Dwarf was/is hilarious. And don't start me on Torchwood. John Barrowman is frigging amazing at everything he does. I'm really enjoying his character on Arrow atm.

But I like Doctor Who more for it's seriousness and emotion. David Tennant showed everyone just how lonely the doctor is. Now Matt Smith is showing everyone how mental and lonely he is

I have a 19 year old son who said all the same things ... oh it's crap, I'm not watching that. Scifi is stupid. Blah blah blah. And then he watched some. He doesn't say those things anymore. You don't have to be a geek to understand that it's the inherent emotions and values that make scifi what it is. Star Trek was never popular because they blew sh*t up. It was popular because it dealt with modern day issues in a futuristic and alien setting. It dealt with human emotion and interpersonal relationships between races/species.

All I read was "I love BSG". That is all the matters. I just wish I had my BSG boxset here in Adelaide because now I feel like watching it :/

I haven't watched Dr Who, BSG, etc, but I would still like to consider myself as a geek....like a gamer/gadget geek? :\

Huge Dr Who fan. Sine 2005 anyways. Still watching Miracle Day and I've seen all the new BSG stuff up to Blood and Chrome. DC, Marvel, COD. Yeah Billie Piper was hot but so is Jenna-Louise Coleman. Oh and I got to see Michael Rosenbaum at Supernova. Good guy. Very entertaining. So yeah bit of a geek.
