Removing the rear spoiler doesent sound that hard:

But.. what I was wondering about, is what to do next?
Wont you end up with 6 holes in your boot?
How do you cover these up? Is it easilly done?

I suppose you could just go to a Panel Beater and ask them to cover the holes and re-paint the entire boot lid. However matching the color can be hard. I know through experience

Why do you want to take off your spoiler anyway?

done like the spoiler... VS too biig.
So if I get it off I will have one for SALE.

I was worried that I had to respray...
Isn't there any sort of plugs u can fit into those holes?

i imagine youd have to spray it, cant see how you could just plug the holes without leaving marks etc.... ask some of the guys like mikey who has changed their spoilers.... if u get it resprayed you should shave off the boot lock - looks great...

im removing mine aswell, stock spoiler, i gots original touch up paint from a mate whos a resprayer and he will cover holes... are u in sydney???

I have a veilside rear spoiler.
How does your mate cover the holes?

I have an idea I might do..:
1)take off the spoiler
2)rustproof paint in the holes
3)use some silicon or similar and put some sort of black plug/screw inn.
4)then I will only have 6 black screw dots in my boot...
That could look good..

If I understand this correctly, you have a veilside spoiler and not the stock spoiler.

If this is the case then you are probably better off selling your boot lid with it on. If the veilside spoiler was installed properly, aside from screws it will also have been glued down. Taking it off could be quite an effort and cause a bit of damage.

damn i thought it would be easy.
Now I have to source out a bootlid without rear spoiler and respray.

Offer your boot lid as a swap for someone else who has a bootlid either with or without a spolier.

If you get one with a stock spoiler, you can can them remove it much easier than the veilside one.

but then I would probably have to respray.. too expensive.

You are going to have to respray anyway.

I wanted to take off my Veilside Spoiler a long time ago, to replace it with a GT Wing. But seeing that it was glued on, that idea went out the window. Your only two options are to replace the whole boot lid with the spoiler, or try to take off your Veilside spoiler, which would most definately damage the spoiler and boot.

I dont understand why they glued the Veilside Spoilers on.

once u take off the spoiler u can get it welded shut then sand it back....

but then u gotta respray... lol

mrstumpy, any way you go, you are going to have to respray. So just take it to the panel shop and let them do it. They'll be able to take the wing off, they'll be able to patch the holes and they'll be able to respray it.

Alternatively, as mention above, offer your bootlid and wing as a swap for someone else with a stock wing (or no wing). The stock wing will be much easier to take off. But you will still need the holes patched and still need a respray, let the body shop do both of this.

I've seen someone use those plastic plugs that u use for funiture to cover the screw holes, & then paint them with touch up paint. & i assume they use silicon on the inside edge to stop water going in.

Why don't u take it off when u save enough money for a proper job??

what u can use to cover the holes is putty like no more gaps, but no matter what u will have to get it painted again, unless u don't mind colour mismatch...

What about selling your boot lid with the VS rear wing and getting a carbon fibre boot lid, like the ones on the project F website.
