Which one's are better? Is there any genuine advantage (or disadvantage) with the cross drilled? Are they worth the extra money?

they are lighter and cool better... however they can crack around the holes...

Shaun, why don't you hang off upgrading for a bit and go for our brake upgrade kit... it will have iether DBA's or the new Kanagroo paws which have been cooling...

HI shaun,

ive had both so far and i can say i think Slotted is better value and has better reliablilty. i wouldnt go buy Slotted drilled again, as they tend to warp and crack after a year or so. And depending on your brake pad compound, ud wouldnt want too much heat dissapation... Unless you were racing or something :P

Think I'll be in for the brake upgrade kit. Was running standard discs at Oran Park and I wasn't really happy with the car under brakes. Don't think the discs were happy either, as they seem to like screaming at me now.

dont bother with cross drilled, its purely show...

grab some slotted discs and some racebrake pads and dont worry about never stopping quick enough ;)

though seriously, with your 17" rims id wait for uas's kit(if they ever get it completed) purely for the increased size of the rotor and hence slightly better cooling etc(for minimal cost one would assume)

Got the DBA Gold (slotted/cross drilled) I believe they have the kangaroos paws design.

Good points, brakes better then standard GPX disc at high speed, not much different at low.

Bad points, dam bloody noisy, & lots of brake dust due to my combination of the brake pads (endless)

In 2yrs they are on, I haven't had a problem with cracking & warp yet. They are design for street use, so if you want something for track, don't get the DBA gold, or else i'm sure it will crack & warp like the other said.

you need to consider what sort of driving you want to do when considering compounds for pads and makeup of your rotor's...

Ok Steve, give me some details. I know we will talk about it on Sunday, but for the benfit of all others on here, what is the kit going to consist of? And also, price?

Does sound good (as always) but $$ will play a factor (as always :D ).

Yeah I would consider the bigger upgrade brake kit as well....as long as they fit my rims!

I have DBA slotted and they go excellent with the RB74s. Not much noise, and good for higher speed breaking.
