Got some good news guy’s (I think)

I have asked my contact at Mitsubishi if the speed limiter can be disabled without an after market computer.

Below is my contacts reply

Dear Mr Hughes,

It's possible to be re-programmed FTO's ECU. However, it needs "MMT" which
is MMC's local equipment.
"INCA" which is general-purpose tool to re-program can not be used for
FTO's ECU.

Know all we need to do is get our hands on this MMT!! :D

I have a reply but i'm not sure what he means

My email
Thank you Mr Kamo,

I am happy that i now know that it is possible.

Should Mitsubishi Australia have access to this "MMT" or is it only
available to MMC Japan.

Can you tell me what MMT is short for?

Thanks for your help it is much appreciated.
His reply
Dear Mr Hughes,

"Matching and Monitor Tool" is called "MMT" for short.
"MMT" is software to re-program, monitor and so on.

Anymore, special adaptor to connect ECU and computer is necessary.
HHMM did he answer my question about Mits Aus or not?

Is this similar to MINES VXrom Reprogrammed ECU?

Has anyone tried or have this on to thei car??

aparantly, there are only a few manufatures that do ECU eg, denso for holden and nissan, and they are all compatible. not sure if this applies to FTO's as mitsubishi has its own line of electronics.

also, assuming we can program the ECU, we still have to dyno it as well, does anyone know of dyno tuners in melbourne that will us use the dyno by our selves with out own tuning software?

I was more thinking of overiding the speed limiter for a start, then think about tuning with it.

im guessing here, but i think in aus we have a mut II im not sure if its the same thing, but i know its the only elec device my mitsu mechanic has for plugging in. and i dont have the cartridge so the mut II doesnt work with my car.
How ever i was always under the assumption that all jap cars made it more difficult to turn the speed limiter off, because it was an offence to drive with it un-limited
if it can be turned off at the ecu by a certin signal beeing sent, im sure that information would be avalible on the internet. I did see a little how to some where on by passing the speed sensor, though looked a little technical, and i didnt wanna fry my ecu

I think you'll find that the MUT II can only read the ECU and not program it.

yeah MUT devices are diagnostic tools... can't do any programming with it...

i want to do tuning ;)

Written a few emails off, so hopefully I will be able to find out if Mitsu Aus has access to this.

I will also try to see if we could purchase (or hopefully get MMC to donate  ) a copy of this program and the adapters.

But we will have to wait and see

OK from what MMC japan have told me that MMC Aus dont have access to this. I dont have the contacts to confirm that with MMC Aus.

Does anybody have anyfreinds who work for Mitsu AUS? Perhabs someone coudl ask them. Otherwise we will have to try and find a copy of it somewhere else.
