Two things come to my mine when i saw this post....
1. Haven't seen the finish product, so wouldn't able to tell if its going to look good on a FTO.
I've seen the one where a integra had the supra lights, & another one had the skyline lights, looks ok but i wouldn't do it. But that just me.
2. I guess theres only one way to find out if its going to leak, you get them, & then tell us.

You could get a similar look for about $10 using a mask.

Masking the FTO tail lights to look like the Supra's tail lights is equivalent to muzza's doing up a VL to look like a clubsport
BRO!
What i dont get is why would anyone want to make their car look like another car????????
Just buy that damn car instead!! Its not like the Supra costs $100,000!

nah i duno i just like the supra lights
and with masking the lights
i already tried
its so ugly close up
when your far away it looks nice
but close up it looks so bad
unless i can buy a light cover which i doubt

Isn't the Supra's taillight cluster longer than the FTO's?
So, the tail-lights would look pretty close together on a standard FTO rear end I would imagine.
It would definately be a unique mod though!
Maybe the Photoshop experts could prepare a pic for us!

On this topic
i and a mate are working on a fiber glass cover for the lights so they look however you like them too.
this is better then masking because A) you wont get defected for it like masking
B) it protects your lights like a car bra
C) if you have ever seen a fiber glass cover youll know they look teh sex

Don't these also act as a mask? i.e. don't they also slip over your existing lights and have some sort of pattern cut into them to let the light through?
Are these similar to the fibreglass ones you can buy from overseas that some others have raised before on this forum?

when u make the fibreglass design
make sure u have holes on the lights so the reflectors from the rear lights are seen otherwise its illegal

yeah we already checked all the guideliens etc etc and these should adheare to act/nsw road regs.
i dont know about these US ones though?
basicly itll stick out about 1cm ontop of your lights nice and flush looking with the body so itll look factory so it looks like a proper conversion or original design. where as a cop will look at vynle and spot it right off for what it is.

on the topic of fitting supra lights, the fto lights curve around the rear of the body, supra lights are dead flat, so it would look pretty weird. I have also seen supra lights on other cars andi dont think it really suits any other car.

i totally agree with GAv because this idea has come to my head as well and my smash repair-er guy said that its possible if your willing to spend big bucks, he quoted 4k.... i just laughed.... so yea....

i know it wont fit, but has anyone seen the new "mazda 3" rear light, its the clear and black on the inside.
hmmm he above dosent make sense, ok, think of traditional lexus altezza light, but think of it as black. i think it should look good on a dark colored car, since there is a clear tail light prject somewhere on this site, just dont know the status of it.

Hmmm i think you mean Mazda 3 SP23, cause the normal one is just plan red & orange.
