Ok, I thought this might interest some people, I had an Apexi cat back exhaust with a the "super silencer"

In the Apexi marketing material, it said it can increase power with some model/brand of cars. Which I thought it might be the other way around, seen it restricted the air flow.

Well heres what really happen when I put it through the dyno today, it didn't gain any kwatw, but it lost around 0.2-0.3 kwatw.

In my opinion the silencer is well worth it, since it cut out large amount of noise & only lost a bit of power (if anyone ever going to notice it).

Did the silencer have any effects in the low or mid range that you could tell from the dyno results?

Because I think that's what Apexi in their marketing blurb claims also.

On the graph it looks like it had almost no effect what so ever, the two line on the graph are almost become one at 90% of the time.

I got a quote for 865 today, is that too expensive

Don't know Gav, it came with my car when i brought it, so i don't have any dyno figure on stock exhaust system to compare.

$865 sound resonable for a "branded" cat back exhaust. I know it was retail for $1200 2yrs ago.

Its a great exhaust. Had mine on for about 2 years now. Got it originally from Japan with other stuff (www.checkerflag.co.jp) so cant remember the price off hand. Its definitely one of the best sounding exhausts I've ever heard. Get compliments all of the time
