On one of the forums someone said that the A in 6A12 means it's an aluminium engine.
To my knowledge Mitsubishi never made aluminium engines?
So how true is this? Or maybe its just alloy heads or something?

The 6A12 is a cast Iron block with Alloy heads.

They only Mitsubishi engine that has an alloy block that i know of is the 8A80 V8. (there may be more, but im not sure)

the "A" in 6A12 denotes the block generation
