I was told recently that it could be a good idea to mount the pod filter down almost inside the wheel arch near the resinator box.

Now i have seen most peoples engine bays, and i have seen that ph3var's is mounted in the front kit.

In the stock air intake setup, under where the pipe runs to the stock air box, there is the pipe that runs down, it would be mounted down in there...

meant to have good airflow...


any ideas?

i wouldn't say you'd have great airflow there... but would only be able to tell for sure by doing a pressure test at speed...

the intake pipe (post filter) is a tuned length. any modifications to this could have a negative affect on power... also the longer the pipe the slower throttle response is.

best solution is to build a box or buy one that's already available and use that.

The placement of my filter has not retarded my throttle response at all but the oposite. I understand that making the pipe longer should have some effect but using an oversized rampod filter is forcing the air in nicely for me.
But maybe the only reason I have mine that way is because thats what RPW put on there for me and it works nicely for me.
